Unit selection is decided by engine displacement, between roughly 1.4 and 16.0 litres. Everything else — mounting, protection, servicing interval and how you measure the result — is decided by the application. That is what these pages cover.

Mining fleets

Haul trucks, articulated dumpers, production dozers, loaders, drill rigs and camp gensets. Dust, pit heat and remote servicing decide as much as displacement does, and carted fuel changes what a percentage is worth.

Applications: common questions.

Which industries do HydroHub PEM systems apply to?

Any operation running diesel engines between roughly 1.4 and 16.0 litres displacement on sustained duty. In practice that means mining fleets, marine and commercial fishing vessels, agriculture, rail, drilling rigs, route buses and coaches, waste and refuse collection, confined-space and underground plant, stationary generator sets, and general truck and mixed-fleet transport. Each has its own application page covering duty cycle, unit selection and measurement.

How do I know which application page applies to my fleet?

Pick the page that matches your duty cycle, not just your industry name. A mine site running haul trucks, camp gensets and light vehicles will use three pages: mining, generator sets and transport. Duty cycle — how much idle, how much steady load, how many hours — decides both the unit and how you measure the result.

Do the different verticals use different hardware?

No. The same PEM platform is used across every application; only the unit size and mounting arrangement change. Displacement decides the unit, and the operating environment decides where the cabinet goes and how it is protected.

Where does the evidence behind each application page come from?

Every vertical page draws on the same shared evidence base rather than deriving its own. The four technical pillar pages cover the mechanism, the PEM versus alkaline distinction, the technology category and the published-literature review; the four usage-case pages cover idle and part-load duty, remote-site fuel logistics cost, visible smoke and biodiesel blends. Vertical pages link to whichever of those actually apply.

Can I trial a system on one machine before committing a fleet?

Yes, and that is the approach every application page recommends. Instrument one representative asset per class, baseline it over a repeatable duty cycle, fit one unit, then compare over the same duty. Systems are sold outright at a published price, so a single-unit trial does not require a quote process.
