Hydrogen Production

Mechanism

Electrolytic production drives a non-spontaneous reaction with electrical work: water is split into hydrogen and oxygen. Thermochemical routes instead reform hydrocarbons. The two families differ in feedstock, contaminant set and siting requirements.

PEM purity

PEM cells use a solid membrane and deionised feed water, so the contaminant inventory is limited to moisture and trace species from wetted materials rather than carried-over electrolyte.

Production

Practical production planning covers nominal output, turn-down range, water treatment, electrical supply, ventilation and maintenance intervals. On-demand systems are sized to instantaneous demand rather than to a storage inventory.

Industrial and consumer applications

Industrial hydrogen supply serves combustion equipment. Consumer modality equipment is documented separately. CE Global covers the production side of both without asserting outcomes in either domain.
